This pack contains prints of some of Flora Twort’s most famous paintings. These inspiring paintings have a narrative quality and are an important record of the social history of Petersfield and the surrounding area. This pack also includes a short history of Flora Twort’s life, a copy of a letter written by Flora explaining why she thought her paintings were important to the history of Petersfield: also some smells, 1930’s Street and Farmyard, to bring the paintings to life.
Ideas for using this pack:
- Look at a picture and describe what is happening, maybe write a poem or story about the characters in it.
- Look at the style of the painting and paint your own picture of modern Petersfield in Flora Twort style.
- Look at how people are shopping and compare it to how people shop now.
- Look at the pictures of the square, how have the buildings changed? Is there anything happening that still happens today?
