Petersfield Museum - Bequests

Freddie Standfield
In 2005 the museum received money from Freddie Standfield to help develop the museum. This money enabled the Museum to employ a full time Curator.

Since then the Museum has grown significantly, now occupying two sites and employing 3 members of staff.

To continue growing and providing the community with this valuable service, the Museum needs to continue fundraising.

If you appreciate the work the Museum is doing and would like to support us further – please consider us in your will.

Petersfield Museum, incorporating the Flora Twort Gallery, is run by an independent charitable company funded by individual donations and grants. It has important collections of historic costumes and all the extensive work of local artist and Royal Academician, Floral Twort. It has changing displays of regional commercial and social life and an extensive archive of local material and maps. It has national accreditation.

Your gift will enable us to:

  • Care of the collections (ensuring that they are stored and displayed correctly and that preventative conservation techniques are in place).
  • Organise educational events and workshops (for everyone – not just children!)
  • Provide resources to help interpret the displays.
  • Maintain the museum and ensure its long term future.
