The Museum is an independent registered charity which receives no regular funding from central government. As a result we are reliant on donations and fundraising.

How money is spent:

• Care of the collections (ensuring they are stored in suitable conditions, displayed correctly and preventative conservation techniques are in place).
• Running educational events and workshops (for everyone – not just children!)
• Providing resources to help interpret the displays.
• Upkeep of the museum and ensuring its long term future.
