Petersfield Museum is an Independent Charitable Trust and Accredited Museum, and currently does not receive regular funding from central or local government. As a result we are reliant on public support to allow us to continue to provide the range of services and events we offer.
There are many ways you can get involved, from volunteering to becoming a Friend of the Museum or giving a donation. Find out more about all the ways you can support us using the tabs above.
Our Mission is to promote the preservation, understanding and enjoyment of the history and cultures of Petersfield and the surrounding villages by showcasing the extensive and varied local history, archaeology and art of the area and the wider history of dress through exhibitions, research, education and outreach.
The museum and gallery rely heavily on donations to fund the work that we do. The money raised goes towards:
- Care of the collections (ensuring they are stored in suitable conditions, displayed correctly and preventative conservation techniques are in place).
- Running educational events and workshops
- Providing resources to help interpret the displays.
- Upkeep of the museum and ensuring its long term future.
