Examine the historical development of the modern police force and how it has evolved in Petersfield and the surrounding area. The workshop takes place in the old Magistrates' courtroom.

Students become history detectives, with the opportunity to investigate documents from the collection and objects that introduce people they may have encountered in Petersfield over time.

They will investigate and discuss how punishment has changed over time and how a magistrates’ court differs from a district or crown court.

They will be able to explore the restored Victorian holding cells and come together and share their discoveries at the end of the session.
