We've been speaking to our Curator, Sophie Yaniw, about her experience curating the exciting Paula Rego: Literary Inspirations Exhibition
What is the exhibition about?

Petersfield Museum’s unique exhibition is about the brilliantly outspoken British-Portuguese artist Paula Rego, and the stories by which she was inspired to escape the oppressive environment in which she grew up, into a world of her own creation.

Would you like to contribute to a new exhibition in Petersfield Museum?

We want to work with you to tell the ongoing story of Petersfield during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Petersfield Museum is seeking members of the local community to collaborate with on an upcoming exhibition that tells the story of how the town responded and continues to respond to the pandemic. We hope that through this, future generations can learn about what it was like to live in Petersfield during this time.

This exhibition will be online and also part of a display featured in the new museum.

We are very excited to announce the acquisition of a Bronze Age hoard to the Museum, currently on display in the People of the Heath: Bronze Age Barrows in Petersfield exhibition, which runs until 24th November 2018.

The Buriton Hoard consists of four attractive bronze ornaments: two torcs (worn around the neck) and two bracelets. The hoard was found by a metal-detectorist in 2016 in Buriton parish, not far from Petersfield Heath.
