It is with great sadness that the Trustees and Staff of Petersfield Museum have learnt of the death of Don Eades. We would like to send our deepest sympathies to Don’s family and friends at this very difficult time.
Don’s longtime contribution to Petersfield and the surrounding villages, as photographer for The Petersfield Post, was hugely significant and documented the development of the town and the lives of its people throughout much of the latter half of the 20th Century.
It was an enormous privilege for the Museum to accept the donation of Don’s photographic archive in 2015 and it now makes up an important part of our collection. It is the Museum’s intention to use our new buildings and spaces to showcase Don’s work and to enable future generations to see, enjoy and learn about his work.
