Tickets are free, but booking is essential.

Start and end times
6:30pm - 7:30pm

Dr Clément Nicolas is a leading expert on flint arrowheads, graves and societies of the Chalcolithic and Early Bronze Age. His researches have covered material in France, Britain, southern Scandinavia and central Europe. His expertise includes an in-depth knowledge of the technology behind the flint-working necessary for barbed and tanged arrowheads. In January he will be over here to study the unparalleled sets of arrowhead blanks from the graves in Barrows 11 and 13 and has generously agreed to present this seminar whilst with us. Amongst other subjects, he will undoubtedly give us some insights into the contemporary arrowheads from Brittany, where arrowhead production was raised to a high craft indeed.

There will be much else besides and this is a unique opportunity for people in the Petersfield area to hear about wider societies that relate to our local ‘round barrow culture’.

Dr Nicolas’ seminar is free, but it is essential to book to ensure a seat is available.
