This 3.5-mile circular walk explores the historic boundaries of old Petersfield. ‘Beating the Bounds’ is a custom that dates back to Anglo-Saxon times, before maps and written title deeds. Local people would walk the boundary route and ‘beat’ stones with thin wooden ‘wands’ to mark the ‘bounds’ of their parish. Join us as we revive this ancient tradition, ‘wands’ included

This walk will take between 2.5-3 hours and will start outside St. Peter’s Church. Sensible walking shoes should be worn.

Maximum number on a walk is 20, so to avoid disappointment it is best to book in advance. Maximum of 3 under 16s tickets per paying adult. If you have any queries, please email education@petersfieldmuseum.co.uk or give us a call on 01730 262601.
