The parish of Buriton has a rich agricultural and industrial heritage and some fascinating local history. But, as with many other places, there was a danger that, over time, much of the knowledge and many of the photographs of the past could be lost.
The Buriton Heritage Bank, launched in 2001, is designed to ensure that historical about the parish is collected, shared widely and recorded forever.
The initiative has collected over 3,000 old photographs of the community’s heritage and produced a series of well-illustrated publications. This talk will look deeper into the project and illustrate a range of its exciting and interesting findings.
