On 27th and 28th September 2021 Petersfield Museum will be hosting a series of exciting GCSE and A Level poetry workshops.
Led by Hampshire Poet 2020-21 Kathryn Bevis, these two hour long sessions will use the work of Edward Thomas as a starting point for encouraging and inspiring students to write their own poetry.
The objectives of the Study Days is:
To engage students with poetry and reconnect them with the joy and power of language.
To help students feel confident at expressing their ideas through poetry.
To introduce students to the work and the writing style of local poet Edward Thomas.
To encourage the use of creative writing as a way of enriching students’ ability to be analytical about texts.
The Study Days will be held onsite at Petersfield Museum, which students are welcome to explore during their visit. Students will also be given access to a series of online writing activities and games following the study days.
Sessions available 1030 - 1230 and 1400 - 1600.
The sessions are free of charge to secondary schools and colleges within the local area and beyond. Spaces are limited to 10 students per session.
