Looking Through Lace Curtains’ is a novel that deals with an all too familiar family skeleton. Its range covers more than just the skeleton. It is intended to portray a period and people whose lives were torn apart by the initial crumblings of the British Empire and the First World War.

The inspiration for the novel comes from the characters that the author once knew and from the terrible ordeals they suffered, like millions of others. They in many ways were role models of their time. Their story deserves to be told and talked about in classrooms, too.

Join us for a fascinating evening as Gregory shares with us his journey, combining family history, research and semi-fictional narrative to create ‘Looking Through Lace Curtains’.
