It was on Friday, August the 17 1906 that William Mitchell (aka Joseph Burbidge) walked into Petersfield with a rifle and bayonet and started to fire indiscriminately at local residents. Immortalised in the press as the ‘Mad Sailor’, follow in the footsteps of William as we follow the events that transpired on that fateful day.
